ATLAS OF CARE

WE BUILD THE WORLD THAT SUSTAINS US

Atlas of Care is a collective artistic experience that invites participants to explore the networks of care present in their lives through graphic arts, three-dimensional construction, and emotional cartography.

Through printmaking, collage, texture creation, paper construction, and artistic installation, the group creates a large collective landscape that represents all the people, spaces, objects, and relationships that make everyday life possible.

WHAT WILL WE BUILD?

We start from a simple question:

WHAT SUSTAINS YOUR LIFE?

From the answers, participants create different elements that become part of a shared territory.

Some will build:

  • Houses.
  • Schools.
  • Health centers.
  • Parks.
  • Neighborhood shops.

Others may represent:

  • Important people.
  • Animals.
  • Support networks.
  • Communities.
  • Safe spaces.

There will be no single way to take part. Each element contributes a necessary piece to understanding how a community that cares is built.

A CITY MADE OF CARE

Little by little, a large three-dimensional installation will appear.

  • Houses will connect with schools.
  • Schools with squares.
  • Spaces with the people who inhabit them.

Using threads, ropes, labels, and visual connections, participants make visible the relationships of dependence, support, and interdependence that exist within a community.

THE IMPRINTS OF CARE

Through construction with paper and cardboard, experimental printing, collage, and texture creation, each participant contributes different elements to this shared territory.

These prints become:

  • Paths.
  • Rivers.
  • Networks.
  • Walls.
  • Landscapes.
  • Connections between spaces.

The marks left by the objects transform into the geography of the collective territory.

THE FINAL QUESTION

Once the territory is built, we observe the result together.

  • Which spaces appear most connected?
  • Who sustains these spaces?
  • Which kinds of care are visible?
  • Which remain hidden?
  • What would happen if they disappeared?

The work thus becomes a tool to reflect on the value of care and its distribution within society.

FINAL RESULT

When the city is finished, participants can observe all the connections that make it possible. The result is a large collective installation that makes visible an often invisible idea:

life does not sustain itself alone. We sustain it among all of us.
