DISCOVERING THE ART OF MAKING HANDMADE PAPER

What if the paper we no longer use could become a new story? In this workshop we will learn how to make recycled paper by hand, turning scraps of used paper into unique new sheets, full of textures, colors, and life. Through a complete process, we will discover how an everyday material can become an artistic piece made with our own hands.

During the workshop we will experiment by adding dried flowers, leaves, natural fibers, threads, pigments, or seeds, turning each sheet into a one-of-a-kind creation. Beyond learning a technique, we will discover a new way of looking at the materials around us, understanding that what seems like waste still has a lot to offer.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

  • We will discover the artisanal process of making paper.
  • We will experiment with flowers, leaves, seeds, and other elements.
  • We will make our own paper pulp.
  • We will produce several sheets of handmade paper with unique finishes and textures.
  • We will learn pressing and drying techniques so that each piece is strong and long-lasting.

FINAL RESULT

Each participant will take home several sheets of handmade paper created by themselves. Some may include seeds, becoming plantable paper that, over time, will give life to new flowers or plants.

Because creating can also be a way of caring for our environment.

Practical information

Duration:
between 2 and 3 hours (adaptable to the group).
Participants:
groups of between 8 and 25 people.
Recommended age:
from 6 years old.
Space needed:
a room with access to water and large tables for group work.

No prior experience needed.
